A special day of waka events will be held on and off the water in Porirua on Friday 2 March. Students from around the greater Wellington region can come together for a day full of waka fun at Mana Marina in Porirua.
Students will have the chance to come on board a waka hourua (traditional double-hulled sailing canoe), meet and hear from waka voyagers and explore the galaxy in a S.M.A.R.T. Trust Star Dome.
There will be an exclusive screening of waka voyaging feature documentary film Te Mana o Te Moana and two performances of Ka Tito Au, followed by a post-show talk with the writer, director and cast member.
