Haere mai – Come on board a full-day, waka-themed excursion for your students.
First stop, step on board one of the waka hourua (traditional double-hulled sailing canoes) docked at Taranaki Wharf in Wellington Harbour and meet the Pacific voyagers.
Next stop is up to you – your class can choose its own adventure from four voyaging experiences:
Investigate Pacific migration, navigation and voyaging vessels. Visit an exhibition and get hands-on in the Hīnātore Learning Lab where you will use 3D design to create your own waka.
