Information about accessible parking and public transport in Wellington is available on our Getting Around page.
All venues have limited wheelchair seating. Designated wheelchair spaces (where available) are sold at the lowest non-restricted view price in the venue for that performance. We also offer one additional seat per wheelchair space at the same price. More information about the access available at specific venues can be found on our Venues page.
For all events that do not have allocated seating (listed as General Admission), please inform the Front of House staff on arrival should you require assistance with mobility, such as wheelchair allocation. Alternatively, please contact the Festival on (04) 912 0411 or email email@example.com
Festival-goers who are Deaf or hard of hearing
There are hearing loops available at the Michael Fowler Centre and St James Theatre. Please inform ticketing staff when booking if you wish to sit in a certain area of the venue.
Sessions listed with these symbols will be translated into New Zealand Sign Language or audio description.
Audio description is auditory narration that is particularly useful for people who are blind or partially sighted, where visual elements (such as scenes, settings, actions and costumes) are described during gaps in dialogue.
Sessions listed with this symbol are a relaxed performance. These are designed to welcome people who benefit from a more relaxed environment, including people on the autism spectrum and people with intellectual or learning disabilities. Audience members are able to leave and re-enter the auditorium during the performance and there are no restrictions around noise or movements. A social script describing the performance and venue will be available before the performance.
Free companion seats
If you require a support person to come with you, you can apply for a free companion seat. These are strictly limited. Please call the Festival on (04) 912 0411 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
